Welcome to Audesirk Vineyards
Audesirk Vineyards (pronounced
"Awe-de-sirk") of Napa Valley has one goal: to make
terrific, limited production, Napa Valley wines that are
affordable for wine aficionados to enjoy without emptying
the bank account. We work with some of the best vineyards
from throughout the valley, with our Winemaker Pierre Birebent carefully selecting our grapes for quality and
character unique to Napa Valley and the vineyards in which
they are grown. From them, Pierre makes our flagship wine,
Signature (a traditional Meritage red wine blend of cabernet
sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, malbec, and petite
verdot) and our limited Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and
Syrah.
Frank Audesirk: Oil Platform
Inspector, Wine Collector, Entrepreneur, Vintner
Audesirk Vineyards began when
entrepreneur Frank Audesirk, a health, safety, and
environmental (HSE) inspector of oil and
natural gas platforms, let curiosity lure him to Napa
Valley to learn about where his favorite wines were grown
and made. Trip after trip to Napa Valley to meet with the
winemakers and vineyard owners responsible for growing and
making the wines he collected and enjoyed allowed him to
strike up friendships with the who's who in Napa Valley.
After several years and numerous frequent flyer miles, one
of his his vintner friends asked him why he didn't make his
own wine.
Entrepreneur that he was, Frank
realized that he had come to learn where the best grapes
were grown, and who the key winemakers were, giving him the
connections to create hand-crafted wines from Napa Valley
affordably. Initially working with a group of winemakers,
and today working with Winemaker Pierre Birebent (of
Signorello Vineyards), Audesirk Vineyards has embodied that
philosophy of working with the best vineyards for each grape
type, and crafting them into rich, complex wines of
character that showcases those great vineyards.
Frank Audesirk still lives off
the coasts of Africa, the Middle East, and in the Gulf Coast
on remote oil platforms half the year, and the other half
walking the vineyards and working in the cellars in Napa Valley for Audesirk Vineyards.
Pierre Birebent: Winemaker
Pierre Birebent is a fifth
generation winegrower. He grew up on the family vineyard in
Corsica, France, and received his degree in viticulture and
enology from Lycee Agricole Macon-Davaye in Macon, Burgundy.
In 1985 he moved to California to further his range of
experience in winemaking. Pierre has been the Winemaker at
Signorello Vineyards since 1998.
